“Faith is our guide, not sight.”
“The eyes of the Lord range throughout the whole world, to bring aid and comfort to those whose hearts are loyal.”

The “M Bench.” It’s one of those places on a college campus that has a lot of “folklore” attached to it that no one really believes. It’s also the best place at Millsaps, I think, to watch the sunset. Sometimes when I’m there, it’s cloudy and the sun’s rays barely reach out and create a dazzling effect. Other times, the sun’s rays are bright and colorful, but large trees
block the full view. How often is this like our walk with God? Are there not times when things are cloudy or something blocks our “seeing” God’s grace? We may not see it but we know that
He is still there in our lives – just like I know the sunset is still there when the day is cloudy. It just takes a little time for the “weather” and other obstacles in our lives to clear up so we can
affirm what we already know.

OUR GRACIOUS FATHER, PLEASE HELP US TO REMEMBER THAT NO MATTER WHAT TRIALS WE ARE FACING IN OUR LIVES, YOU ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR US. HELP US TO SEE PAST THE CLOUDS AND OBSTACLES THAT KEEP US FROM YOU; HELP US TO KEEP OUR FAITH WHEN WE DO NOT SEE YOU. AMEN.
