“A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything – or destroy it!”

I don’t know what trouble James had seen created by a misspoken word. I know that I have said things that have clearly been of comfort to another, and I have said things that have clearly hurt feelings. James is clear that a misspoken word can corrupt and destroy. This is certainly not what God would have me do today, corrupt and destroy.

LORD HELP ME TO SEEK YOUR WORDS TODAY THAT I CAN BE MORE HELP THAN HURT. HELP ME TO SEE THE TRUTH IN MY WORLD AND TO BRING YOUR WILL INTO MY DAY. AMEN.
