“Yet those that wait upon the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired; they will walk and not become weary.”

For years this scripture would turn up whenever I least expected it. When God is working on me, I know I am being led to “think on these things” when He saturates me in a
scripture; and I find myself turning it over in my mind. This promise seems so simple. Just wait on the Lord and you will be renewed. After years of having this scripture gently shoved in my thoughts, and after much prayer, I have a slightly different understanding. One of the definitions of “to wait” is “to serve.” How different is the meaning? We go from passively sitting and waiting for God, to actively serving Him. Now I can see it, Lord. I am to serve you. Even though I am to do this for a lifetime, you will not let me grow faint. My acts of service will give me new strength. This scripture is for all of us to claim. Praise God!

AWESOME GOD, YOU AND YOU ALONE HAVE THE POWER TO SUPPORT AND SUSTAIN US IN OUR SERVICE OF YOU IF WE WILL JUST CLAIM IT. SHOW US WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE US TO DO TO SERVE YOU TODAY,LORD. AMEN.
