“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I have heard Christian friends describe a desire to live a life like Paul’s – even to the point of wishing for trials and tribulations in order to test their faith. I, too, want to have a faith
that allows me to “give thanks, regardless of where I find myself.” However, I confess that my faith has not matured to a point where I wish for trials and tribulations. I find that God
introduces into everyday life a unique blend of trials and successes. While most of us do not wish for difficult times, what a blessing it is to experience God’s power, and to get a
small dose of how Paul may have felt. In good times, and in bad times, when I allow Him to, God will manifest Himself in my life. When this happens, I am in awe of His incredible
power, I know for certain that He lives, and I am humbled that He cares about me. The feeling is addictive.

FATHER, IT IS SO EASY TO BE THANKFUL FOR THE THINGS YOU PUT IN MY LIFE THAT I ENJOY. GIVE ME THE WISDOM TO BE THANKFUL IN
“ALL THINGS.” IN MY JOY, AND IN MY SORROW, IN MY SUCCESS AND IN MY DISAPPOINTMENT, TEACH ME TO ALWAYS BE THANKFUL. AMEN.
