“Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.”

Boy, what a difficult task this is when we live in a material world. How often do we try to replace pain, sorrow, depression, loss, or even happiness, with something other than God? I
know I have taken a few trips to the mall when I have felt low. There are some cases where people think that in order to be happy they need lots of money and material items. Some
people feel that, if they had a special person in their life, they would be happy while others may feel children or a great job will do the trick. There are so many stories I’ve read or seen
that show people who have everything a person could imagine but they were absolutely miserable. When it comes down to it, there is only one thing that can truly satisfy us … God.
Sure, buying a new outfit or tool is uplifting, but temporary. When I have been at my lowest of lows, the only thing that truly comforted me was God. If I look back on awful situations I
survived, I know it was because of Him! God created us with a void that only He can fill.

THANK YOU, FATHER, FOR WANTING TO SATISFY MY EVERY NEED. I ASK THAT YOU FILL ME WITH YOUR HOLY SPIRIT. COMFORT ME WHEN I AM FEELING LOW, AND MEND MY HEART WHEN IT IS HURTING. AMEN.
