A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. “Be gracious to me, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Thy compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, And my sin is always before me.”

Around eight or nine years ago I began to wonder what God was all about. When I picked up my Bible, I turned to this Psalm and have thought of it often in the many years since. The Psalm goes on to say “Against thee and thee only have I sinned.” It reminds me that,
when I sin or think about sinning, it is against the One who loves me the most.

AMEN.
