“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Remember the Sunday School song, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus?” It is my good fortune to have a friend of many years. She and her husband have retired in another state but we are still as close as ever; we just pick up where we left off and there seems to be no need for explanations or justifications. We just swap news and keep going. When there are problems and things to decide or talk out, it’s done with no fear of indiscretion or disapproval. It’s wonderful! Jesus knows us better than any human friend or even ourselves. He is aware of our needs. And He has the power, and the caring interest, and the plan for our lives to do something about whatever it may be, all with our welfare and
benefit uppermost. But do we talk to Him as freely and as often as we should? I am afraid not; we often feel unworthy, that He does not have time for our little cares and woes. Oh, how wrong. Talk to Him in prayer, share your joys and sorrows, let him be your friend WHO LOVES YOU.
THANK YOU FOR THE GRACE OF GOD, THE SALVATION OF JESUS, AND THE COMFORT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. THANK YOU FOR THE FREEDOM TO TALK TO YOU. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CARE AND BLESSINGS. AMEN.
