“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were issued instruction manuals when our children are born? Everything else seems to come with directions in several different languages! After basic parenting classes for the survival of both parents and child, we should turn to the instructions given in Proverbs! Training a child is not only the responsibility of the parents, but also of those who promised at the baptism of these little ones to support the family in their Christian growth. Moses spoke the words found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 to the people of Israel – they are just as important to Christians today.

HEAVENLY FATHER, LET US NOT FORGET OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO OUR CHILDREN, AND LET OUR DECISION BE THAT OF JOSHUA “…AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.” (JOSHUA 24.15B) AMEN.
