“My soul waits in silence for God only; from Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation. My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.”
My mother was a geology student, and always had a love of rocks. She often recited this scripture as a source of inspiration. Her image of God being as solid and as everlasting
as a rock is one which spoke to me of her deep faith. How often those of us as struggling Christians have an image of God as being without substance. I long for the kind of faith
that recognizes His strength and His permanence. Where I am weak, He remains constant.
Praise God!
HEAVENLY FATHER, YOU ARE SOLID WHERE WE ARE WEAK.HELP US TO REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN BE THE EVERLASTING CONSTANT IN OUR LIVES. LET US GROW IN FAITH TO BE ABLE TO SHARE YOUR PROMISES WITH THOSE WHO DO NOT YET KNOW YOU AND WHAT YOU CAN BE IN THEIR LIVES. AMEN.
