“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful; however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

One of my early church memories was with my Grandmother. She took us to a rural  Methodist church in North Florida. There wasn’t any air conditioning, just a large exhaust fan and the little stick-and-paper hand fans in the pew racks. It would get so loud and so hot. After wearing out my welcome, fanning myself and everyone aroundther soothed my nerves after church by taking me to get an ice cream. I suppose there are times when God wants us to be hot and frustrated. It makes the ice cream taste even sweeter.

BLESS THOSE WHO SUFFER FOR CHRIST. KEEP ME MINDFUL THAT EVEN MY DISCOMFORT SERVES YOUR PURPOSE. AMEN.
