“You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.”

Egypt, which had been Israel’s nest for 450 years, was destroyed. Then, God’s people needed to learn how to relate to him as the eagle’s chicks needed to learn how to fly after
their nest was damaged. Like the eagle’s young ones fall downward to the rocky floor, without a supportive and comfortable bubble, Israel began a “free falling” down to the
desert. When everything seemed to be lost and dead, God “caught” his people on his wings and put them in the desert to have an encounter with him. The final destination
of that frightful journey was neither the desert nor the promised land, but God himself. Please, let’s consider that the final destination of all our journeys is God. He will carry us
on his wings, even if everything seems unpleasant.

Guiding and merciful God, thanks for bringing us close to you.Draw us nearer to you every time.
