“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.”
Study the lives of great people and you will find everyone of them, at times, drew apart from the hurry of life for rest and reflection. Great poems were not written on crowded streets; lovely songs were not written in the midst of clamoring multitudes; our visions of God come when we stop. The Psalmist said, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Sometimes God puts us on our backs in order to give us a chance to look up.
DEAR GOD, WHEN I AM FORCED TO LIE DOWN, I PRAY IT WILL BE A BLESSED EXPERIENCE. PLEASE HELP ME TO OVERCOME ANY RESENTMENT, SORROW OR SELF-PITY. LET ME KNOW THOU ART GOD. AMEN.
