“But when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”

In quiet times when I am left to ponder the great mysteries of the world, I am comforted by this passage. God is promising us that, once we enter into His glory, we will be able to see the “big picture” and understand how we fit into His plan. The very thought of being included is a reassuring validation of His love for us. The second part of this passage speaks to being “fully” known as an individual. How many times have we felt that “no one understands” us? I feel warmth and security from this passage in the belief that God knows me so totally. These verses are my favorite and I treasure them as a personal gift from our Lord.

OH GOD, WE COME TO YOU TODAY ASKING FOR YOUR HELP IN ACCEPTING THE EVENTS IN OUR LIVES AS PART OF YOUR GRAND PLAN FOR US AS CHRISTIANS. THANK YOU FOR BEING WITH US DURING OUR TIMES OF RESTLESSNESS AND WONDER. AMEN.
