“Always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father.”

A thankful heart is one of the dearest gifts we can give to God. Yet, it is probably the most difficult gift for us to give. I find it extremely easy to sing with the birds when all is going well, but watch out when the floods start coming and calamity seems tantamount! However, it is in times of trials that we learn the sufficiency of God and that is truly something worth thanking Him for. St. John of the Cross said, “One act of thanksgiving made when things go wrong is worth a thousand when things go well.” What a worthy goal, to sing in the midst of tribulation!

LORD, GIVE ME THE FAITH TO SEE YOU IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. AND ONCE I FIND YOU, THE SENSE AND GOOD GRACE TO SAY,“THANK YOU.” AMEN.
