Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him.“Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am…”

God asks Abraham to take his only child, the one he’d waited a lifetime for, and put him on an altar, slit his throat, and then burn him in offering to God for His goodness and mercy.
WHAT?! And then Abraham goes to the mountain to DO it?!!! Isaac even asks his father, “Where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Abraham answers with “God will provide himself
the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” I think Abraham probably said under his breath, “And you are it, Isaac.” What faith, and trust, and unselfishness. “God will provide himself
a lamb…” Did Abraham really know that God would tell him to stop. NO. He just had Faith, that all would turn out OK. Oh, that I could have this kind of faith and trust in God’s plan.
Thank you Abraham for trusting in God. Thank you God for testing Abraham.

O GOD, GRANT US THE ABILITY TO LISTEN TO YOU WHEN YOU SPEAK TO US AND THEN ABILITY TO TRUST IN YOUR WILL ENOUGH TO DO
THE THINGS THAT YOU ASK US TO DO, EVEN IF IT MEANS TAKING OUR “CHILDREN” UP TO THE MOUNTAIN TO SACRIFICE THEM. IF WE
GIVE OURSELVES AND OUR FAMILIES UP TO YOU, THEN YOU WILL TAKE CARE OF US, AND PROVIDE US WITH THE THINGS THAT WE
NEED TO MAKE YOUR WILL OUR OWN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GOODNESS AND MERCY. AMEN.
