Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see – I am bringing good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.”

What a wonder that the angel of the Lord would announce the birth of the Son of Man to the plainest of people – the shepherds. And, Jesus was born in a place where the animals sleep. The message of Jesus’ birth would soon draw much attention. Even three kings would be drawn from far away to visit this humble, tiny baby. God’s presence lights the scene for me each Christmas as if I am there as a witness to this miraculous birth, the miracle of Christ on Earth. Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Ghost.

AS YOUR SHEPHERDS, LORD, PLEASE HELP US SHARE YOUR WORD WITH ALL WHO NEED TO HEAR IT. LET US CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF JESUS EACH CHRISTMAS AND KNOW YOUR TRUTH. AMEN.
