“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
An article in the newspaper gave me thought. “The miracle of life was able to occur on our planet because of the sun. If the sun were any bigger, smaller, nearer or farther, we would not be able to survive on Earth. At just the right size and distance it is very special to us.” My mind jumped to the “Son” who is the center of our true universe. We were miraculously created by the “Son.” We live because of Him, with Him, and in Him; and all good things come from Him, not just the loveliness, balance, and symmetry of our Earth, but the spiritual beauty of its inhabitants. Look at the swimming fish, the leaping deer, the soaring bird, the speed and grace of horses, rabbits, tiny mice, and elephants; all are perfect. But imperfect human beings are held in such loving regard that the “Son” was sacrificed so that we might have everlasting life. Is He not just the right size and distance – and power – to enable us to survive on Earth and to live in His kingdom for eternity?
