“Watch, therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the  Son of Man cometh.”

In the minds of many there is great confusion about what is called “the end of the world,” or “the Apocalypse.” Studying the words in the Book of Revelation offers few clear answers and
certainly no timetables. Our faith tells us that Christ said He would return, and He will. He said He will claim for His own those who believe in Him, and He will. He said His Kingdom will be established upon the Earth, and it will. It will happen in His time. If our houses are not in order, serious effort must be made – not just for “the Company” who is surely coming but for our own benefit, our comfort, spiritual productivity and happiness during these earthly days. A very old saintly aunt in deep Appalachia, with a child-like innocence and a long, good life behind her,“played the game” with her kids when they asked, “Mammy, what would you do if the Lord were coming tomorrow?” With a glowing smile and a soft voice she replied, “Why, children, I ain’t studyin’ on it, but I b’lieve I would sweep the front porch and bake one of my angel-food cakes.” Let us sweep our porches to make today fulfilling and to prepare for tomorrow.

SWEET JESUS, WHOM WE LONG TO SEE YET FEAR TO FACE, SHOW US THE STRENGTH OF YOUR LOVE FOR US THAT WE MAY LOVE YOU FREELY IN RETURN AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS YOU HAVE COMMANDED. HASTEN YOUR KINGDOM AND LET YOUR GLORYSHINE UPON AND ABOUT US ALL. AMEN.
