“…those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagle’s;…”

Fatigue, tiredness, and exhaustion come over time. Even youths grow tired and weary until the point of stumbling, dismaying and falling. “Hope in the Lord” or “wait for Jehovah” (a more accurate translation of what the verse says) is the hint for renewed strength. Some biblical examples are elderly Simeon and Anna who long for the Messiah in the temple, before Jesus was born. They were renewed when they saw baby Jesus, at very old age. Years later, boldness came over the church when its members waited for the promised Holy Spirit. Today, the very same Holy Spirit is with us as a comforter. Let’s receive strength from him, as we wait for the full manifestation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In this way we won’t walk or run, but we’ll soar on wings like eagles.

LORD JESUS, WE WAIT FOR YOU IN THE COMFORT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT; PLEASE, RENEW OUR STRENGTH AND COME SOON. AMEN.
